Squarespace to Shopify migration for a home goods & gift brand
Rebecca Jane Woolbright had outgrown Squarespace. Her artistic home goods brand needed bundle functionality, better inventory management, and a checkout experience that converted on mobile. We migrated 100+ products across 10+ collections in 4 weeks — zero downtime, full SEO preservation, and unlocked the ability to create custom gift bundles.
The Challenge
Key pain points:
- No bundle functionality — She wanted to offer "Build Your Own Bundle" gift sets, but Squarespace couldn't handle it natively
- Limited product variants — Tea towels came in different materials (linen vs. cotton), colors, and patterns, creating inventory management chaos
- Poor inventory tracking — Hard to manage stock across multiple SKU variations and collections
- No abandoned cart recovery — Losing sales daily from customers who didn't complete checkout
- Mobile checkout friction — High cart abandonment on mobile devices, where most of her traffic came from
- Scaling limitations — As she expanded collaborations and added more product lines, Squarespace couldn't keep up with the complexity
She needed a platform that could scale with her brand, handle complex product catalogs, and provide the eCommerce tools necessary to grow revenue — not just display products.

The Solution
What we did:
- Full catalog migration — Migrated 100+ products across 10+ collections (Tea Towels, Oven Mitts, Mugs, Wrapping Paper, Gift Bags, Gift Tags, Washi Tape, Bundles, OAHC Collab, and Accessories)
- Bundle app integration — Set up Build Your Own Bundle (BYOB) functionality, allowing customers to create custom gift sets
- Product variant optimization — Organized tea towels and other products by material type (linen/cotton), color, and pattern with proper inventory tracking
- Collection restructuring — Reorganized products into clear categories: Home & Living, Gifting, and OAHC Collab
- Mobile-first checkout — Optimized the entire checkout flow for mobile shoppers (her primary audience)
- Abandoned cart recovery — Implemented automated email sequences to recover lost sales
- SEO preservation — Created 301 redirects for every single URL to maintain Google rankings and organic traffic
- Team training — Taught her team how to manage products, inventory, orders, and fulfillment in Shopify
The migration was executed in phases to ensure zero disruption to her business. We worked closely with Rebecca's team throughout the process, providing real-time updates and staging environment access so they could see progress as we built.
"The migration was seamless. We didn't lose a single day of sales, and now we can finally offer custom bundles — something our customers have been asking for."
